Description
Oregon Royal Ann Cherries glisten in the morning dew, bathed in the light of a new day.. These cherries are grown in the Willamette Valley, Oregon and depend on the generally mild weather of the Pacifcic Northwest. As spring emerges the days are cool and wet but enough sun and heat need to be scattered through March to get the bee colonies active for pollination. In May and June the crop depends on more sun for fruit maturation, ripeness and sweetness. With any luck ,sixty days takes us from blossom to harvest. Royal Anns are an early variety and typically harvest in mid to late June, other cherry varieties extend the weeks of harvest through July for the cherry farmer.
