Artist's Description
Kagbeni is a medival style village located in the Valley of the Kali Gandaki River,in north central Nepal and the gateway to the upper Mustang region. Its landscape is similar to Tibet, high plateau, cold, windy, dry, barren. The village and the river are sacred sites for the Hindu religion. The main religion of the villagers, however is Tibetan Buddhism and trekking north above town is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries with this spectacular view across an expansive barren, plateau of nothingness, then the vertical himalayan peak.
