Description
The Port Townsend, Washington ferry is crossing the straits from Whidbey Island to the mainland. This is a common means of commute/transportation for island dwellers working on the mainland of Washington State. The ferry system is extensive and efficient in Puget Sound and throughout the San Juan Islands, ferrying locals and tourist alike. You can board either with a vehicle, bicycle or as a pedestrian. Commercial vehicles and trucks also deliver goods and services using the ferry system.

Wow, magical indeed, Leslie. My favorite town here in WA, and the ferry ride magical, too. The sunrise here is so amazing. I snapped it from our rental cottage in Sequim, with similar colors and such a huge sky. Gorgeous photograph, and what an exciting moment for you.
