Many villages erected makeshift schools after the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Locals and volunteers alike understood the advantages for the children and the needed morale boost for all the villagers. To be clear, the earthquake and aftershocks caused tremendous destruction, devastation and loss, and there was initial chaos. It took the hard work of many, local and international, paid and volunteer, but once general clean up, safety ,water, food, medical and other basics needs were secured, school rebuilding became a priority. Working with this project was lifechanging for me.
