Grant zebras live on the African savanna or grassy plains of east Africa and they need to have nearby water. Lions are their most prevalent predator, others include cheetahs, hyenas, crocodiles, and wild dogs. Herds or dazzles consist of one dominant male with up to 15 mares and their young. Zebras often huddle to rest, relax, protect their young and socialize but to also have enough lookouts for a 360 degree view, watching for the potential predator. They graze mostly in the golden light of sunset as their predators mostly hunt in to cooler morning. They also often graze with smaller animals ,like antelope, that are easier prey. The mass of zebra stripes appears confusing and disorienting for their predator,a sneaky or intelligent survival mechanism!
