Description
El Chalten is considered Argentina's trekking capital. Probably best known and most popular is access to Fitz Roy range trailheads, but any day hike can take you to lost lakes, glaciers and breathtaking panoramas. On this afternoon we were returning from Laguna delos Tres when the weather changed almost instantly and the clouds, wind, and rain swept in. I was able to capture this photo of "the Sphinx", as it is locally named, for its pyramid -like rock pattern as it appears to be suspended in the clouds.
