Description
The heart and soul of the iconic landscape of the African savannah is the acacia tree. They are adaptive with deep roots, water storage and their leaf and thorny branch construction detour herbivores from overgrazing ,although giraffes frequently browse the leafy canopys. These trees are an integral part of the African culture for a variety of medicinal purposes. Bark, gum and wood, as well, are all harvested for tools, musical instruments, to detergents and inks. The tree itself is a symbol of survival and versitlity in the harsh savannah environment and a symbol of protection and guidance.
