Description
There is no shortage of spectacular scenery and day hikes along the Columbia River Gorge, within 60 miles of Portland Oregon. The Washington State side offers panoramic views, open meadow and wildflowers, while the Oregon side features lush, green forests with abundant waterfalls, basalt cliffs and views.Especially in the fall ,days are still bright, but cool, water is abundant, there is more moss, lichen, fungus, evergreens with cones and more yellows and golds
Triple Falls originates from one creek, the Oneonta creek, but splits into three falls as it spills over the edge. You can continue to hike above the falls, over the bridge and rest, enjoy lunch, or play in the numerous pools. This particular hike takes you past several other, equally spectacular, waterfalls and into the Oneonta Gorge.
