We encountered a very snowy trek,with powerful winds,along Laliderer Wall in the Austrian Alps. We had expected green meadows and sun on this September day..... However we trekked through snow-covered wide open,slopes,and a fir tree landscape, with dramatic clouds swirling around the enormous peaks. The scene evoked a sense of tranquility but the reality was the raw beauty and wildness of winter ..
Arriving at Falenhutte,there was a boistous crowd,all enjoying a warm meal and drink. Although we were strangers there was a very congratulatory spirit for the day's challenge. Karwendel Mountains, Alps, Austria, Tyrol
