Description
The Belize Barrier Reef offers scuba divers and snorkelers a new world to explore. Turtle mating season is a particular adventure a the male turtles are more inquisitive and less elusive, and definitely seeking a mate. They often come very close to divers.
The Marine Reserve in Belize seeks to raise awareness and protection( since 1993) of sea turtles.
Belize is the home to three species ,the loggerhead, green, and hawksbill.
Nesting/mating season runs from May through September and is an incredible time to view these creatures ..
Here, a green turtle rests motionless, in the coral, making a photo of interesting patterns, color, camouflage and underwater beauty.
