Description
The saddle billed stork is a large,tall,longlegged,wading bird in the family Ciconiidae,with its standout red beak and "knees." It is one of the tallest stork species,and has impressive plumage, both the male and female.
It is a resident of Sub Saharan Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania and is considered endangered,so is often seen in protedted areas or national parks.Their large attractive beaks are used to feed on aquatic prey as well as mammals and insects. This bird is often depicted in Egyptyian hieroglyphics.
